Dr Sylvia Vigh

Dr Sylvia Vigh is a Brisbane-trained gastroenterologist providing specialist care across general gastroenterology and hepatology. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1999 before undertaking physician training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She then completed specialist gastroenterology training across several Brisbane hospitals and has held a Visiting Medical Officer appointment at Mater Adult Hospital South Brisbane and Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland School of Medicine.

Dr Vigh manages a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Her clinical interests include hepatology, particularly the management of Hepatitis B and C and access to FibroScan, as well as women’s digestive health, inflammatory bowel disease, and diagnostic endoscopic procedures. She also provides care for patients with general gastroenterology concerns.

She consults at Mater Hill Gastroenterology in South Brisbane and performs endoscopic procedures at Mater Private Hospital.

In addition, Dr Vigh provides gastroenterology consultations at Springfield Hub and performs procedures at Mater Springfield Private Hospital, supporting patients across Brisbane’s western suburbs.
